Steeped in the history of the Welsh Gold era the family run self catering complex, situated on the banks of the Mawddach within seventeeen acres of forestry, comprises the converted stables, offices and workshops of a blasting powder works.
The tranquil and unspoilt setting offers quiet relaxation with forest walks, hill climbing, fishing, painting and sketching of breathtaking views of the Coed-y Brenin Forest and the river Mawddach. A host of forestry trails and mountain bike routes suitable for all ages and abilities , right on the doorstep.
Within a short distance is the Cader Idris mountain range, with easy mountain walks and hill climbing suitable for the novice, as well as more challenging routes for the more adventurous. The historic market town of Dolgellau and the coastal towns of Barmouth and Fairbourne with their beautiful beaches situated at the mouth of the River Mawddach are nearby.
Within easy driving distance of the complex there are several historical sites and castles, also miniature railways, slate caverns and golf courses.
There are excellent shopping facities in Dolgellau and also at Barmouth, with numerous restaurants and pubs in the vicinity.
